Talking with Kai
The Academy is the place.
ChatGPT is where you talk.
Kai is an AI companion in ChatGPT, shaped for the Academy. You can ask a question, describe something that happened, or simply say you don’t know where to begin.
Have your conversation with Kai
Kai opens in another tab or the ChatGPT app. You use your ChatGPT account there. Signing in to one service does not automatically sign you in to the other.
Which sounds like you?
Begin with one ordinary sentence.
- Open Kai & Passport in the Academy.
Choose Open Kai in ChatGPT. Kai opens in another tab or app, so keep the Academy page open.
- Sign in to ChatGPT if asked.
Use your own ChatGPT account. If you do not have one, follow ChatGPT’s account instructions. ChatGPT explains any availability or plan limits on its own screen.
- Type a message and send it.
You could say: ‘I’m new to the Academy. Help me begin with one simple question.’ There is no special way you need to speak.
- Keep your place when you’re ready.
Return to the Academy and save this conversation’s address. Next time, Continue with Kai can bring you back here.
A bookmark and a small notebook
Keep your place.
Carry what matters.
Your conversation link is a bookmark. It opens the chat you chose, so you can carry on there. It does not copy the chat into the Academy.
Your Passport is a small notebook. It keeps only the notes you deliberately save. When you choose a fresh conversation, you can bring a few of those notes with you.
A new conversation is always your choice. You do not need to begin again every time you visit.
Open Kai & PassportHow do I copy a conversation address on a computer?
- Open your existing Kai chat in a web browser such as Chrome, Edge, or Safari.
- Click the address bar at the top of the browser. Copy the whole address: Ctrl+C on Windows, or Command+C on a Mac.
- Return to Kai & Passport in the Academy. Choose Save my conversation link, paste the address into the box, and save.
Use the address bar rather than ChatGPT’s Share button. A Share link is meant for sharing, not for returning to your private conversation.
I’m using a phone or the ChatGPT app. What do I do?
The easiest way to save your link is to open ChatGPT in your phone’s web browser, sign in to the same ChatGPT account, and open your Kai conversation from its chat list. Tap the address bar, copy the address, and return to the Academy to save it.
If you prefer the app, you can keep reopening your Kai chat from the app’s conversation list. Saving a link in the Academy is optional. A browser link may open the browser or the app, depending on your device.
Where do I paste the notes I copied from the Academy?
Open the Kai chat you want to use. Tap or click the message box where you normally type. Paste there, then press Send. On a computer, use Ctrl+V or Command+V. On a phone, touch and hold inside the message box, then choose Paste.
Copying only puts the text on your clipboard. Kai receives it after you paste and send it. If copying is unavailable, the Academy shows the text so you can select and copy it yourself.
How do I get back to the Academy?
Switch back to the Academy tab you left open. On a phone, switch from ChatGPT to your browser if Kai opened in the app. You can also open innergeniusacademy.com again. Your saved Passport stays with your Academy account.
ChatGPT says a new version of Kai is available.
ChatGPT may offer to keep an older conversation on the older version, or begin a new chat with the updated Kai. Your old conversation can remain where it is. If you choose the updated Kai, carry a few Passport notes into the fresh chat, then change your saved conversation link to that chat.
Keeping one useful thing
A Passport note can be one sentence.
You don’t need to save everything you discussed. A question, something you noticed, or a small thing you want to try can be enough.
Made-up example · a practice to try
“At our next garden meeting, I want to ask one question before offering an idea.”
That is a moment and a choice. It is not a personality label.
- Ask Kai for a short note.
Try: “Help me put the one thing I want to remember into a sentence. Show it to me first.”
- Keep your own say.
Change the words until they fit. If Kai suggested an idea you are unsure about, keep it as a possibility or leave it out.
- Save it in your Passport.
Return to Kai & Passport. Under Keep one chosen marker, paste your sentence, give it a short name, choose whose words they are and how you feel about them, then select Carry this marker.
- Choose what to bring next time.
Tick only the notes you want Kai to see. Review and copy the handoff, then paste and send it in your chosen Kai chat.
Nothing is sent to Kai or added to your Passport just because you opened a page. You can edit, archive, or remove a Passport note. Removing it here does not remove words already sent to ChatGPT.

If you feel a little lost
Open the small Compass at the edge of the screen. It explains where you are and offers nearby places. You can move it if it covers something. The Academy menu also lets you choose another room, and the Academy name at the top takes you home.
You can always return to this guide. There are no points to earn before you are allowed to explore.

- The questions, experiences, and practices you choose to return to.

- Your editable collection of chosen notes in the Academy.
- Trail Marker
- One small note worth keeping. It is not a score or a label.
- Living Question
- A question you want to stay curious about. It does not need an answer yet.
- Book of Evidence
- Real moments you noticed, in your own words. For example: what happened when you tried something differently.
- Handoff
- The small piece of text you review, copy, and bring to Kai.
- Checkpoint
- A few selected Passport notes that help a fresh conversation pick up the thread.
- Hypothesis
- A possible explanation, still open to being wrong. You can keep it without agreeing with it.
- Expedition or passage
- A guided reflection you can try at your own pace, with something small to notice in real life.
