Your conversation, at your pace
Kai, step by step
Beginning, returning, and keeping your place without starting over.Who is Kai, in plain English?+
Kai is an AI conversation companion inside ChatGPT. He is shaped to help you reflect on ordinary moments, ask useful questions, and notice possibilities. You can talk in your own words. He can be mistaken, and you can disagree or ask him to speak more simply.
Show me how to beginWill every visit start a new conversation?+
It does not have to. Save the private address of your chosen Kai chat in Kai & Passport. Continue with Kai then reopens that conversation. Start a fresh conversation is a separate choice. Until you save a conversation link, Open Kai in ChatGPT opens Kai’s starting page rather than selecting an old chat for you.
How do I save my conversation link?+
Open the actual Kai conversation in a web browser. If you are still on Kai’s welcome page, send a message first. Copy the address from the top of the browser. Return to Kai & Passport, choose Save my conversation link, paste, and save. Use the address bar, not ChatGPT’s Share button.
Help with computers, phones, and appsDoes saving that link give the Academy my conversation?+
No. It saves a private bookmark with your Academy account. The Academy does not use it to read your chat, and does not include it in Passport handoffs or Kai Action responses. ChatGPT still requires access to the account that owns the conversation.
Can I use Kai on my phone and computer?+
You can reopen the same chat when you use the same ChatGPT account. Your saved conversation link follows your Academy account when you sign in on another device. Depending on your device settings, the link may open a browser or the ChatGPT app.
What should I say to Kai?+
An ordinary sentence is enough: “Something happened today and I would like to think it through,” or “I’m new here. Please ask me one simple question.” You can also bring a Lantern or card that caught your attention. You do not need to learn prompts or Academy terms.
Do I need to bring Passport notes every time?+
No. You can simply continue talking in the same chat. Bring a note when it adds something useful, or when you choose a fresh conversation. An empty Passport is fine.
Does Kai remember everything I have ever said?+
Do not assume that. An existing conversation can use its available earlier context, but it may still need a reminder, especially as it grows. A fresh chat should not be treated as if it knows your other chats. Selected Passport notes help you carry what matters without copying your whole history.
When would I choose a fresh conversation?+
Whenever you want a new page: a new topic, a shorter chat, or an updated version of Kai that ChatGPT offers in a new conversation. You can bring a few Passport notes if they help. Save the new conversation’s address if you want Continue with Kai to return there.
Does a fresh conversation erase the old one?+
Starting a fresh chat or replacing your Academy bookmark does not delete the old ChatGPT conversation. Manage conversations in ChatGPT itself. Removing a bookmark in the Academy only removes that saved destination.
Does Copy handoff send anything to Kai?+
No. It copies the reviewed text so you can paste it. Open your chosen Kai chat, paste into its message box, then send. That is the point when the copied text enters ChatGPT.
Are there invisible notes about me in a handoff?+
The handoff includes a place reference, such as the Lantern or card you came from, plus the context and Passport notes you select. You can inspect the exact text before copying. It does not include unselected journal entries, hidden personality labels, or a secret transcript.
Small notes you choose to keep
Your Passport, simply
What to save, what to leave out, and how to change your mind. What is a Passport marker?+
A short note you want to return to: a question, a moment you noticed, a recognition you agree with, or a small practice you want to try. “Marker” is just the Academy’s word for one of these chosen notes.
See a simple exampleHow do I bring one useful thing back from Kai?+
Ask Kai to draft one short note and show you its exact words. Edit it until it fits. Return to Kai & Passport, paste it under Keep one chosen marker, give it a short name, choose whose wording it is and how it should be held, then select Carry this marker. Seeing a draft in ChatGPT does not mean it has been saved in the Academy.
What do the choices about truth and wording mean?+
Traveler-endorsed means you agree with the note for now. Kai hypothesis means Kai suggested a possibility that you have not agreed is true. Open context means a question or situation is still unfolding. Whose wording records whether the words came from you, Kai, or an Academy passage. Agreeing to keep a suggestion does not mean agreeing that it is true.
What is the difference between archive and remove?+
Archive sets a note aside and keeps it out of future handoffs; you can bring it back later. Remove deletes it from your Academy Passport. Neither choice can erase text you already sent to ChatGPT.
Will my journal be sent to Kai automatically?+
No. The everyday handoff carries only the words you choose and the Passport notes you select. You can review the complete handoff before copying it.
What is the Founder Action experiment?+
It is an early connection being tested so Kai can retrieve chosen Academy notes and return an approved marker. It uses a temporary passage that expires. You do not need it to use Kai or your Passport today; use the review, copy, paste, and save steps in the guide.
You can begin anywhere
Finding your way
Rooms, cards, stories, the Compass, and time away. There are so many places. What should I do first?+
Try one Lantern if you have a few minutes, the Welcome Walk if you want an introduction, or Book One if you prefer a story. You do not need to visit every room.
Choose a place by what interests youWhat does the little Compass do?+
Open it to see where you are and find nearby places. You can close it when you want more room, or move it if it covers something. The main Academy menu also lets you choose a destination.
How do I get back to the beginning?+
Choose the Academy name at the top of the page to return home. On a phone, open the menu to see the main places. Your Academy Guide is available from the navigation and the Compass.
What is the difference between a Lantern and a card?+
A Lantern is an image with a short reflection. A card offers a lens and a question to try on a moment. Either can start a conversation, or simply be something you enjoy quietly. Neither assigns an identity or predicts what will happen.
Do rooms unlock only if I complete something?+
You do not need to earn points or finish a checklist to belong here. Some spaces need an Academy account so private writing and saved work have a place to live. Follow the places that interest you; the guide and Compass can help you choose.
What happens if I leave for a while?+
You are welcome to return when it suits you. Sign in to the same Academy account to see your saved material. There is no streak to protect and no need to make up missed days.
Practical help, one step at a time
If something feels stuck
Check the simple things first. A missing link does not always mean missing work.Continue with Kai opened a blank page or the wrong chat.+
Check that ChatGPT is signed in to the account you used for that conversation. Open the intended chat from ChatGPT’s conversation list. If it opens correctly there, copy its browser address and replace your saved link in the Academy. If the chat has been deleted or is unavailable, the bookmark cannot restore it; you can start fresh with chosen Passport notes.
The Academy will not accept the link I pasted.+
Make sure it is a private conversation address from chatgpt.com. The generic Kai welcome link and links from the Share button are different. Open the actual conversation in a browser, copy the complete address at the top, and try again.
Show me where to copy the addressI copied my notes, but nothing appeared in ChatGPT.+
Copying and sending are separate steps. In the Kai chat, click or tap the message box, paste the text, and send it. If copying failed, return to the Academy and select the visible handoff text to copy manually.
My saved Passport looks empty.+
Check that you are signed in to the same Academy account you used when saving it. A ChatGPT conversation and an Academy Passport are different places. A note drafted in Kai is not in the Passport until you save it there. If the page reports a loading problem, try again before assuming anything has been lost.
Kai says something was saved, but I cannot find it.+
Open your Passport and check the actual notes. In the everyday copy-and-paste path, you still need to save the note in the Academy yourself. Treat Kai’s draft or an unsupported save claim as unconfirmed. Keep the exact words somewhere you control while you check.
The buttons or text are too small for me.+
You can use your browser’s zoom or your device’s text-size settings. On a computer, Ctrl and + increases zoom on Windows, or Command and + on a Mac. The guide and FAQ are written as real page text, so they can enlarge; the illustrations are not required to follow the steps.

Before You Enter
The short version of what this place is, who it is for, and where a traveler begins. What is Inner Genius Academy?+
Inner Genius Academy is a website where stories, questions, private writing, and small exercises help you notice what matters to you and try it in daily life. Its deeper rooms use Academy story language, but you do not need to learn that language first.
Is it a course, personality test, religion, or productivity system?+
No. The Academy does not assign a type, deliver a verdict, require a belief system, or measure your worth by output. It offers partial mirrors and lived experiments. Your own recognition—and reality—remain the authority.
Who is the Academy for?+
It is for people drawn to curiosity, reflection, recovery, creativity, pattern recognition, and a more honest relationship with ordinary life. You do not need to arrive certain, spiritual, healed, productive, or even sure why you came.
Where should I start?+
Take the two-minute Welcome Walk if you want orientation. Try The Signal if you want three concrete questions. Read The Academy Awakens if you would rather begin with the story. None is required before the others.
Take the Welcome WalkDo I have to complete everything in order?+
No. The Academy has paths, not a conveyor belt. Some rooms become meaningful only after life has supplied the right question. Follow what feels honestly alive, and leave room for what is not ready yet.
Mira’s plain-language records desk
Accounts, Memory & Privacy
What the Academy keeps, what remains private, and what choices belong to the traveler.Do I need an account?+
You can explore the public grounds without signing in. An Academy account lets you save your private writing, Passport notes, guided reflections, and a link back to your chosen Kai conversation.
Is membership free?+
Free accounts are available now. If the Academy later offers optional paid experiences, they will be explained clearly before you choose anything. No traveler should discover a surprise tollbooth halfway down the path.
What does the Academy save about me?+
For signed-in travelers, the Academy can save profile details, private journal entries, preserved legacy web-Kai history, continuity you import, passage progress, chosen Gallery activity, and AutoGeniusOS practice records. Guest exploration is not turned into a hidden profile.
Read Privacy & ContinuityWho can see my journal or imported AI context?+
They are private traveler spaces. Other travelers do not see your profile details, journal, preserved legacy conversations, imports, passages, or practice records. A Gallery piece becomes shared only when you deliberately place it in the Living Gallery.
What are Living, Settled, and Released Memory?+
Living Memory is still moving and relevant. Settled Memory has become part of your Trail. Released Memory is allowed to fade: its words are removed from continuity and prevented from quietly resurfacing. The goal is meaningful memory, not permanent surveillance.
See the full continuity explanationCan I export or delete my information?+
Yes. From Profile, signed-in travelers can download a readable archive, remove imported context, delete individual material where controls are provided, or permanently delete their Academy account data.
Do I need a ChatGPT account?+
You need a ChatGPT account to return to saved conversations with Kai in ChatGPT. Browsing the Academy does not require one. Your Academy sign-in and your ChatGPT sign-in are separate; signing in to one does not automatically sign you in to the other.
The companion correspondence desk
Kai, continuity & the Companions
How the Kai Custom GPT, Academy Passport, and fictional resident characters are meant to help. What happened to the web version of Kai?+
Kai now meets you in ChatGPT, through the existing Inner Genius Academy Custom GPT. Open Kai & Passport in the Academy to begin or return to a conversation. Earlier website-Kai records remain available through the Academy’s export and deletion controls. Kai is an AI companion with a fictional Academy identity; your own judgment remains yours.
How does the Kai bridge work?+
In Kai & Passport, review the question or notes you want to bring and choose Copy handoff. Open your Kai conversation, paste into the message box, and send. After talking, you can return to the Academy and save a short note you approve. ChatGPT holds the conversation; the Academy does not silently copy it. A more connected version is being tested by the Founder and is not required for this everyday path.
Will Kai tell me who I am or what I should do?+
He should not. The Academy passage asks Kai to offer questions, patterns, possibilities, or a small next step without diagnosing, assigning identity, or replacing your judgment. The lantern you seek is already within.
What if an AI gets something wrong?+
Correct it. Disagree. Ask what assumption produced the answer. Keep what becomes useful in real life and release what does not. AI can make mistakes, miss context, or sound more certain than it should; fluency is not the same as truth.
Are Gary, Mira, Zora, and the others mascots?+
No. They are residents. Each has habits, relationships, favorite places, seasons, and a different way of helping a traveler become available to reality. They are encountered before they are explained, so affection can grow before lore arrives.
Why does Gary appear in the documentation?+
Gary is Keeper of Administrative Shenanigans and believes he is responsible for the smooth operation of the Academy. His notices usually create useful breathing room through humor. Occasionally, beneath several unnecessary procedures, he tells the truth.

Expeditions & AutoGeniusOS
How a traveler moves, what counts as progress, and why the Academy has a separate instrument. What is an expedition?+
An expedition is a lived sequence: curiosity, reflection, an encounter or pattern interrupt, and one small real-world practice. It is not a lesson to memorize. Its value appears in what you notice after returning to ordinary life.
How does progress work?+
The Academy does not use worth scores, streak pressure, public rankings, or a single finish line. My Trail preserves selected milestones and meaningful moments while allowing quiet periods and blank spaces. Some seasons become roots rather than records.
What is AutoGeniusOS?+
AutoGeniusOS is a separate discovery, meditation, and state-practice instrument. It helps travelers notice signals, hidden currents, friction, and changes in attention. The Academy is the place where those discoveries can mature in relationship with life.
Open AutoGeniusOSDo I have to use AutoGeniusOS?+
No. It is an optional instrument, not a requirement for belonging at the Academy. Some travelers may prefer conversation, journaling, a simple meditation, a walk, or no technology at all.
Do sound practices require headphones?+
Some techniques—especially binaural audio—depend on separate left and right channels and therefore require stereo headphones. Other practices may not. Follow the instructions shown for the specific practice, keep the volume comfortable, and stop if anything feels concerning.

Wellness & Human Limits
Clear boundaries for reflection, meditation, recovery, and moments that require human help.Is the Academy therapy or medical treatment?+
No. Inner Genius Academy and AutoGeniusOS are general wellness, reflection, and meditation experiences. They do not diagnose, treat, or replace medical care, mental-health care, recovery communities, sponsors, clinicians, or trusted human relationships.
Read the wellness boundariesWhat if I am in crisis or immediate danger?+
The Academy is not an emergency service. If you may harm yourself or someone else, are being harmed, or are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted person who can be physically present. In the U.S., call or text 988 for free, confidential support available 24/7. Outside the U.S., Find A Helpline lists verified services in more than 175 countries.
See immediate support optionsCan the Academy support recovery?+
It can offer reflection, practices, continuity, and companionship that may sit beside a person’s recovery. It does not replace meetings, sponsors, accountability, professional care, community, or the next honest action in the real world.
What is the Academy trying to make me become?+
Nothing. The Academy is not trying to manufacture an optimized identity. Its north star is individuation: a more honest relationship with the whole self, including gifts, adaptations, contradictions, shadows, responsibilities, and unlived possibilities.
Will the Academy try to keep me here?+
No. The Academy should never compete with life; it should deepen life. Success includes closing the Academy and returning more awake to family, recovery, nature, work, service, rest, and ordinary moments.
Future plans, filed without release dates
The Living World & What Comes Next
What exists today, what belongs to the larger vision, and how carefully the distinction is kept. Can I use the Academy on a phone or desktop?+
Yes. The current Academy is a mobile-first web application that also expands for desktop. The same account and continuity travel with you when you sign in through a supported browser.
Is there a downloadable app?+
Not yet. The Academy currently lives on the web. A dedicated app and deeper device features belong to the long-range vision, but no release date has been announced.
Will the Academy eventually become a 3D or immersive world?+
That is part of the north star: a world travelers may one day enter through web, app, and immersive doorways while keeping the same identity, memory, relationships, and story. The work today is to prove the soul, rooms, companions, and human journey before promising a particular platform.
Is the Academy finished?+
No—and it should remain alive enough to learn. Rooms, expeditions, accessibility, companion encounters, and continuity will continue to mature. New features should deepen the human experience without turning the Academy into a machine for attention capture.
Who created Inner Genius Academy?+
Jody Sachse built the Academy from a life of systems architecture, making, leadership, recovery, service, imagination, and a stubborn need to understand why the vision would not leave him alone. The Founder’s Workshop tells that story without pretending the Founder is finished.
Visit the Founder’s WorkshopStill carrying a question?
Some questions belong in conversation.
Signed-in travelers can carry a bounded personal question to the AI they choose. Questions about the place itself help this office grow, even if Gary adds three forms before filing them.
“Certainty hates follow-up questions.” — Gary

A grounding note from Mira
“You do not need to understand the whole Academy before entering one honest doorway.”
Start with what feels alive. Leave what does not. You are allowed to return.
